Tips for the Christmas holidays
- The first Saturday of a school holiday is usually the busiest day to fly. Compare the Friday evening and the Sunday too.
- Check a second airport. Fares from Cork, Shannon or Knock can be lower than Dublin for the same dates.
- Try four or five nights instead of a full week. Midweek returns are often cheaper.
- A flight and hotel booked together as a package usually gives you more protection, but check the terms before you pay. Your rights on a package holiday
